Welcome to Beside the Loch

Set on the quiet shores of Loch Linnhe, Beside the Loch is a boutique, family-run collection of self-catering cabins and a cottage in the Scottish Highlands. Created by us, it’s a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature.

Wake to mist on the water and end your day beneath star-filled skies. Perfectly placed for exploring Glencoe, Lochaber, or as a relaxed stop-off on the way to the Isle of Skye.

Spend your days hill walking, wild swimming, wildlife watching, or simply unwinding by the loch. On site, enjoy a small gym and a welcoming community space with a pool table, table tennis, and pizza oven.

Loved by guests and rated 5-star, Beside the Loch is the perfect base for a peaceful Highland escape.

Set safely and quietly away from the busy A82, right beside the loch and surrounded by open fields, where children can be free-range to explore while parents relax and look on from the cabin, yet thoughtfully designed for couples and groups exploring the Highlands and the wider area.

Stay and Explore the Wild Scottish Highlands

Perfectly located between Glencoe and Fort William, Beside the Loch sits in a peaceful lochside setting with a secret beach, just off the iconic A82 - the scenic route from Glasgow to the Isle of Skye.

From here, you can explore the mountains of Glencoe, climb Ben Nevis from Fort William, visit Oban, discover the wild Ardnamurchan Peninsula, or continue on to the Isle of Skye.

With so much to explore in Lochaber, many guests tell us they wish they’d stayed longer - a central, tranquil base with open views across the loch and towards the Glencoe mountain range, rewarding slowing down just as much as heading out to explore.
