Highland Skies & Stargazing
Our location in the Scottish Highlands offers some of the best conditions for stargazing, particularly during the winter months. While the long summer days make stargazing impractical, the early, dark evenings of winter bring cold, crisp, and clear skies that are free from light pollution, creating an exceptional stargazing experience right from our holiday accommodation.
We can provide guests with access to our Sky-Watcher Classic 200P Dobsonian Telescope, a powerful yet easy-to-use instrument. From the comfort of your balcony, you can explore incredible details of the night sky, including moons, planets, constellations, and even distant nebulae—all while enjoying a hot chocolate or perhaps a warming hot toddy.
Our guests have also been fortunate enough to witness the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) right from the property. While we can't guarantee their appearance during your stay, we closely monitor Northern Lights app alerts. If conditions are favourable, we’ll notify you and can guide you to the best vantage points, such as the nearby hill, for an unforgettable experience.
Embrace the wonder of the night sky and let the Highlands reveal their celestial magic during your stay with us.
